Moving to release the pressure

When your head is full, the reflex is to bury yourself in work. Often, what helps most is the opposite: moving a little. Body and mind are closely linked.

What movement does to your head

When your head is saturated, the reflex is often to bury yourself even more in work. What helps most is frequently the opposite: moving a little. Physical activity releases endorphins, helps your body clear accumulated tension, and improves both mood and sleep. No need to know the theory, the effect is felt fairly quickly.

No need for performance

This isn't about intense sport or setting yourself goals. A walk, cycling, taking the stairs, anything that gets you off the chair and makes you breathe already does the job. What counts is regularity far more than intensity. Ten minutes often beats a big session you'll never do.

Fitting it into your day

Since you're the sole master of your schedule, you might as well make the most of it. A walk between two tasks, a moment to move at the time you usually run out of steam. For someone who works alone, it also feels good to get out and break the isolation, on top of the effect on the body.

The bonus

Moving helps you step back. Many good ideas come while walking, away from the screen, when the mind lets go of the pressure. This time isn't lost time for your business, it feeds it in another way.

And the other pillar, sleep

Moving also improves sleep quality, the other lever freelancers sacrifice first.
